Since Zellige Tiles are hand made and not made in a factory they are not fully smooth , which makes them harder to clean and wipe spills off of them.
No two Zellige Tiles are the same , because of the way they are made each tile has different brush strokes creating a different finish each time. In other words if it doesn't have imperfections then it isn't Zellige.
